On 11th of September 2019, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the United Kingdom Space Agency (UKSA), to cooperate on civil space activities for their mutual benefit and considering the common interest in the use of space technology for peaceful purposes.

The purpose of this MoU is to provide a framework for collaborative activities and reviewing areas of common interest in the civil aspects of space, facilitate the potential interchange of information, technology and personnel in areas of mutual interest.

H.E. Eng. Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohamed, The Minister of Transportation and Telecommunication, Chairman of NSSA’s BoD, commented “We are very keen to start initiatives and projects with the UK Space agency, as a leading entity in the space field, to help us achieve his Majesty’s vision in this prominent field.”

Areas of cooperation will include initiating joint-projects of space science, technology and applications; exchange of views on the Kingdom’s national space policy, law and regulations; and human capital development in the space field and related areas.”
