On 21st of January 2016, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the UAE Space Agency in the Kingdom of Bahrain for organizing the basis of collaboration between the two entities in the space field.

The MoU was signed by Dr Mohammed Ahmed Al Amer, Chairman of the National Space Science Agency and Dr Khalifa Al Romaithi, chairman of the UAE Space Agency.

On this occasion, Dr Al Amer stressed the importance of this fruitful partnerships in order to contribute to strengthening the Kingdom’s position regionally and internationally in this vital sector and achieving comprehensive and sustainable development internally.

The MoU covers the exchange of information between the space sectors in the two countries, in the fields of space science, technology and applications, as well as in policies and regulations. It also covers human resources development, exchange of knowledge, and expertise, common research and technical and operational activities.

Dr Al Romaithi added “Signing the memorandum will allow both parties the exchange of knowledge and expertise in relevant areas, build capacity, share resources and undertake joint initiatives and projects.”

This partnership will also raise community awareness about the effective role of the National Space Science Agency as well as the importance of space science, technology and applications for attracting and aspiring Bahraini youth to work in this promising sector and attract investment opportunities in this highly demanding industry.
