H.E. Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Chairman of the National Space Science Agency (NSSA), paid a visit to the UAE Space Agency to follow up on the cooperation projects between the Agency and NSSA. During the visit, he held a meeting with His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al-Ahbabi, the Acting Director General of the UAE Space Agency, in the presence of senior officials from both sides. During the meeting, they reviewed the work progress in a number of joint projects and discussed future projects that contribute to achieving the objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding concluded between the two parties.

As a follow-up to the announcement of the trilateral understanding signed with Khalifa University and the UAE Space Agency, His Excellency the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications visited the Khalifa University, where he held a meeting with His Excellency Dr. Arif Al Hammadi, Rector of the University, in the presence of senior officials from both sides. During the meeting, they reviewed a number of achievements in joint projects and discussed the implementation of new projects as well as ways to improve levels of cooperation to achieve the aspirations of all parties.

His Excellency the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications also met with a number of NSSA’s staff members while they were working at space laboratories, and listened to their explanations about what they had learnt and got trained in, and the knowledge and skills they had acquired. A detailed presentation was given on the projects they are working on.

At the end of this visit, His Excellency the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications said: “I am very happy to meet with our brothers at the UAE Space Agency and Khalifa University. I appreciate their great efforts and keenness to ensure the success of all cooperation projects with NSSA. This is not unusual of the people of the sisterly state of the United Arab Emirates. In addition, I am very proud of what I have witnessed, and the enthusiasm I found in the youth of the Kingdom of Bahrain working in space laboratories. They showed great passion for acquiring knowledge and modern science, and mastery and excellence of all such knowledge in record periods”.

During this visit, H. E. the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications was accompanied by H. E. Dr. Mohamed Ebrahim Al Aseeri, CEO of the National Space Science Agency and by H.E. Dr. Mohamed Jasim Al Othman, Advisor of the Board of Directors.
